Green Building in Jordan

June 1st, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. the Green Unit of the A/E Business Council kicked off its Green Building Pilot Project activities by conducting an awareness session titled, "Green Building in Jordan:  What Works?  What Needs to be Done?" at the King Hussein Club.  The Unit conducted this session to provide a unified effort for introduction of a formalized process of Green Building in Jordan.  Interested parties and stakeholders from all sectors were invited to attend, participate and provide feedback on four seperate pilot projects.  The pilot projects are ones that the Council members are currently working on, or have plans to conduct, and are at different stages in development.  They were presented by the members and their partners to be used as learning models in Jordan and included a school, a park, a high rise building, and an embassy.  Stations were set up highlighting each project seperately in order to provide an interactive session for discussing the projects and obtaining feedback from interested parties.  Recommendations and conclusions will be recorded and placed on the Council website and a final report will be prepared for participants with follow-up actions.
